The client, a rapid delivery service for convenience items, was encountering limitations with their existing off-the-shelf Shopify app extension. They operated a distinct Shopify store for each geographic service location and as they grew and added more locations, they needed a more efficient and flexible mobile app to serve their users. Time constraints also played a part as they were looking to launch a new solution as soon as possible.
Flywheel partnered with the client to redesign and develop a single mobile app that integrates with the client’s multiple Shopify stores and locations. This involved a comprehensive redesign for a new and refreshed UI and UX. The app was developed using FlutterFlow as the front-end and Firebase and Google Cloud as the backend.
The app integrates with multiple Shopify stores that each represent a distinct service area across the US. This ensures all users have a consistently great shopping experience regardless of their location. The ability to integrate with multiple Shopify stores also facilitates the client’s rapid expansion into new service locations without needing substantial updates or changes to the app.
The app features a modern, user-friendly interface developed using FlutterFlow, combined with Firebase and Google Cloud for backend infrastructure. This allows the app to capture a user’s location and direct them, on the backend without user input, to the Shopify store corresponding to the user’s location. FlutterFlow enabled rapid development and deployment to meet the expedited timeline.
A custom referral program was created to boost user acquisition and engagement. Users can refer friends to the app and earn rewards, incentivizing growth and fostering a community around the service.
The app includes comprehensive order management features. Users are able to create a profile, save items as favorites, browse available items to add to cart, and checkout. After an order has been placed, users can also track the order status and view previous order history, providing an easy to use and convenient shopping experience.
Since its launch, the app has garnered over thousands of downloads and maintains an impressive app store rating of 4.6 stars based on hundreds of reviews. The client was also able to expand to several new service areas.
